Gaining

Question about gaining

Hi, I've had this account for a few years but never took full advantage of it until now. In high school I was pretty skinny. I ranged from about 117 to 125 or so. In college I've been around 138, and I have been happy with my curves. Recently I gained 5 pounds (at 143 now) and I figured I would gain 10 more to see how I feel.
What is an easy way to gain weight quickly? No, I don't want to hear "calculate calories and see blah blah blah". Nobody ain't got no time for that.
Are there any foods that are high in calories that are easy to add to my diet? I have trouble eating lots of food, so the easier to add the better. (I'm not talking adding condiments to my foods, I mean actual foods to add.)
Any help would be appreciated.
Please and thank you!!

Question about gaining

There are a ton of different types of foods that can pack on the pounds fairly quickly. Although, the biggest factor is all about what types of food you enjoy eating the most.

Things like cake and cookies are very fattening yet I know I couldn't eat those types of foods for very long without throwing up. On the other hand I can go through whole pizzas and still feel hungry.

Have you ever tasted half and half? If you can manage to drink that straight that is a great way to gain weight. A great, and easier, alternative is to mix half and half with milk. Much easier to handle and still very fattening.

So what types of food do you like? Go from there.

Question about gaining

Some people like to 'graze' all day, some people like to stuff themselves silly once or a couple times a day. Keep snacks near you at all times or just cook way more food and eat until you can eat no more. Or both smiley

My wife has been pretty regularly eating a half a pint of Ben n jerrys or hagen das every night give or take for some time. Over the last year I have expected her to really blow up but it has not happened like it has in the past. I wonder if she has hit a plateau with her weight and she really needs to spike more calories to start really gaining?

Anyone else seen this with their wifes or girlfriends a plateau of their weight staying the same even after fattening stuff all the time?

Question about gaining

It really does depend on you.
It sounds as though you can't handle huge amounts in a single go.
Best advice I can give is graze particularly after mid day and until bed on things you like.Always choose the high fat option and plenty of carbohydrate and sugary drinks.Vary the food a lot to keep your body interested.
If you can handle it,make a large shake with cream to the extent that you can handle and milk and drink as much as you can late every night before bed.
Good lucksmiley

Question about gaining

I guess I'm weird in that I cant eat a lot. It's more I eat really slow so by the time I really get anywhere with my food I'm already full. I have all these healthy person habits that just come naturally but I don't know how to break them.

Question about gaining

Well, if you do a lot of cooking for yourself you can add Heavy Cream to your recipes wherever they call for milk.

Little Debbie's Snack cakes are ridiculously fattening and very easy to eat (in my opinion anyway).

You can do it more healthily too, drink fruit juice when you'd normally drink water. Things like that.

The first step is to learn to over eat. At every meal try to consume as much as possible fairly quickly. At the beginning you may only eat once a day but as time goes on these meals will come more and more often. That's when you will actually start to see a lot of progress.
